It was a great morning for a class of Year 6 Buckingham Park Primary students from Shoreham by Sea who learnt about Sweet chestnut trees and how to plant them from one of our TreeAction volunteers Chloe Chow and Keith Walder a Park Ranger from Adur & Worthing Council. They then planted 18 Sweet Chestnut saplings in Buckingham Park. Our volunteers working with the school helped make this happen, as well as More Trees Please who provided the saplings.

The school told us the students “ all came back smiling and raving about the experience. ” Each of them were given TreeAction badges for their hard work, which doesn’t end there!.. There are plans in place for year 6 students to look after these trees on a regular basis, monitoring their progress. There will then be  a ‘hand over’ of the responsibility to the current year 5s at the end of each year.
