We’d like to shine a spotlight on someone who’s made a huge difference to Tree Action and our local environment: Liam Lord, volunteer and Arboricultural Inspector at Adur & Worthing Councils.
Liam has been an incredible help on many of our projects, generously supporting us in his own time and helping to build a strong link between Tree Action and the council. Thanks to him, we’ve been able to grow our tree planting projects in parks and recreation grounds across the Adur district, bringing more greenery, life and community into our shared spaces.
Beyond making space for trees, Liam has been instrumental in showing us how to care for them. He’s educated our team and volunteers on best planting practices and ongoing maintenance, ensuring our trees are given the best start and care they need to thrive.
Liam has also played a key role in our school projects, visiting each site in advance and providing detailed planting plans tailored to the specific conditions of each school location. His knowledge of species and suitability has been invaluable – helping us and the students in our schools connect with nature in a meaningful and lasting way.
We’d also like to extend our thanks to his fantastic colleagues, Keith Walder and Craig Ifield, who have supported our maintenance efforts with mulch and other materials to help keep our young trees healthy and strong.
From all of us — thank you, Liam!
